Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address (for authentication and account recovery)
- Password (stored securely using industry-standard hashing)
Health and Cycle Data
When you use MyPhases, you may choose to log:
- Period start and end dates
- Cycle length and flow intensity
- Symptoms (physical and emotional)
- Mood entries
- Fertility indicators (basal body temperature, ovulation tests, cervical mucus)
- Sexual activity and contraception use
- Custom notes and observations
You control what you track. All health data logging is optional and at your discretion.
Technical Data
We automatically collect:
- Device type and browser information (for compatibility)
- App usage patterns (anonymized, for improving the app)
- Push notification tokens (if you enable notifications)
How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to:
- Provide cycle predictions and fertility estimates
- Display your logged data and generate insights
- Send notifications you've opted into (period reminders, etc.)
- Sync your data across your devices
- Improve app functionality and user experience
- Respond to your support requests
We do not sell your data. We do not share your personal health information with advertisers, data brokers, or any third parties for marketing purposes.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is protected through:
- Encryption in transit: All data transmitted between your device and our servers uses TLS/SSL encryption
- Encryption at rest: Your data is encrypted on our servers
- Secure authentication: We use Supabase for secure user authentication
- Offline storage: Data cached on your device for offline access is stored securely in your browser
Offline Functionality
As a PWA, MyPhases stores data locally on your device to enable offline use. This data syncs with our servers when you're online. You can use the app without an internet connection for basic logging and viewing.
Data Sharing
We only share your data in these limited circumstances:
- Partner sharing: Only if you explicitly enable this feature and invite someone to view your data
- Service providers: We use Supabase for database hosting and authentication. They process data on our behalf under strict contractual obligations
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, though we will attempt to notify you when legally permitted
We will never share your health data with employers, insurers, or government agencies unless compelled by valid legal process, and we will resist overly broad requests.
Your Rights and Controls
You have full control over your data:
- Access: View all data we have about you within the app
- Export: Download your data at any time
- Correction: Edit or update any information
- Deletion: Delete individual entries or your entire account and all associated data permanently
- Notification controls: Choose which notifications to receive or disable them entirely
Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from the app settings. When you delete your account, we permanently remove all your personal data from our servers within 30 days.
Cookies and Tracking
MyPhases uses only essential cookies required for authentication and app functionality. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.
Children's Privacy
MyPhases is intended for users who menstruate, which may include teenagers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us.
International Users
If you are accessing MyPhases from outside the United States, please be aware that your data may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States where our servers are located.
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), UK, or other jurisdictions with data protection laws, you have additional rights including the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy in the app and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of MyPhases after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
